MISSION

The Next IT Girl is a technology education nonprofit changing the face of technology. We're bridging the gap by connecting students and businesses to create an ecosystem of innovation and drive the change we need to see in tech.

 

OVERVIEW

The SDLC accelerator program introduces development lifecycle concepts. Managing a modern SDLC project requires a thorough understanding of the various roles that must come together in order to create a successful application. This understanding begins by recognizing the need to work within a multidisciplinary environment. This Fundamentals of SDLC training course will give you the knowledge you need to help you choose between these methods, tools and artifacts so that you can quickly and efficiently take your SDLC project from concept to working implementation.

WHO MAY APPLY

The goal of this accelerator will be to support aspiring and early-stage technology students ages 16-22, Our SDLC accelerator will encourage growth through education, mentorship, and exposure. Students will use technology applications and receive real-world in-demand technology skills that can be
translated into any SDLC role and company of their choice. Our accelerator is designed to assist with placing our students with businesses that are looking to find, test and acquire aspiring top talent by bringing real projects to our
organization. Although this accelerator serves young women of color, The Next IT Girl does not discriminate based on race or nationality.

 

CAMP DETAILS

Students ARE required to be present at all scheduled sessions every Saturday morning. Therefore, please schedule appointments for times outside of the accelerator hours. Please note that the accelerator duration is for three hours; 11:00AM - 2:00PM EST, Saturdays with 15 minute Scrum meetings on Wednesday evenings. All required resources will be shipped individually to each student.

 

2021 ACCELERATOR DATES:  

Sessions:

Saturday, July 17th, 2021 – Saturday, August 14th, 2021

11:00AM - 2:00PM

 

Scrum Meetings:

Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 – Wednesday, June 26th, 2021

6:00PM - 6:15PM

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications must be completed entirely to be considered for the accelerator program.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that circumstances change, if you must cancel then please be aware of these policies and dates:

• Before June 5th, full refund of registration fees will be issued.

• Before June 15th, only a 50% refund of tuition fees will be issued.

• After June 15th, there will be NO refund of tuition fees.*

*In the event of illness or family emergency we will review each refund request on a case by case basis*

 

2021 Accelerator Application Deadlines

• Accelerator applications open: Tuesday, May 18th, 2021

• Camp applications close: Friday, July 9th, 2021
